Prep School Photographer of the Year Competition
2012 PREP SCHOOL
PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION


The closing date for receipt of entries is
31st MAY 2012

THE TASK: Take a photograph in colour or black and white, illustrating life in a prep school. It could be on the sports field, in the classroom, at societies or clubs, showing pupils at work or play. It must be sharp, well composed and, above all, show the fun of life in a modern prep school.

The minutes of the forty-fourth ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Society held at Hordle Walhampton School at 12 noon on Saturday, 14th May, 2011 are available here.

The 45th AGM of the Society will be held at The Downs School, Colwall, at 12 noon on Saturday, 5th May 2012. Teaching Phonics and Spelling
ENGLISH COURSE: TEACHING PHONICS & SPELLING

Suitable for Early Years, KS1 and KS2 teachers

THURSDAY, 13th SEPTEMBER 2012

At Cadogan House Hall, The Royal Masonic School for Girls, Rickmansworth, Herts. WD3 4HF

The course will cover all of the early phonics skills needed to enable children easily to access reading and writing. You can try out some fun activities to support learning and improve your own subject knowledge around phonics and the teaching of reading, writing and spelling. This course will use Letters and Sounds and Support for Spelling as starting points, both of which are free to download.

NHA - Helping Those with Handwriting Difficulties
The National Handwriting Association is running a one-day course for Teaching Assistants: "A Practical Approach to Helping Those with Handwriting Difficulties"

satips General Knowledge Challenge 2012
The results of the 2012 Challenge can be found here.

Many congratulations to all those who took part and, especially, to the senior winner, Oscar Bannock-Priest (Sandroyd) and to the junior winner, Harry Goodwin (Dulwich Prep). The winning schools were Sandroyd (Senior) and Liverpool College Prep School (Junior).
